Hi, I'm Noah Lerman, a graduate of SAR High School in the Bronx, New York. I am currently serving in the Israel Defense Forces (IDF), and look forward to attending Technion - Israel Institute of Technology after completing my service.
I've always been intrigued by how things work. As a child, I enjoyed dissecting my dad's old electronics, unraveling their components and understanding their interactions. More than anything, I loved transforming spare parts into innovative gadgets.
I've often been called "MacGyver," earning this nickname due to my knack for using everyday items to fix things—whether it's repairing household appliances, replicating a damaged Torah scroll at school, or even crafting a bra clasp through 3D printing in a one-time emergency!
When the COVID pandemic struck, I dedicated countless hours in my basement workshop to design masks: one that remains open and automatically closes when it detects someone within 6 feet; another features dual fans to propel water droplets away; and a third which incorporates an embedded Bluetooth microphone for my teachers.
Guided by the belief that true success is measured by the positive impact on one's community, I aspire to leverage my engineering expertise and education to contribute to the advancement of Israel's cutting-edge defense technologies, and to increase the safety and security of the citizens of Midinat Yisrael.
